Dear Jewell Community,
We are absolutely delighted to welcome our families back for the 2026-2027 school year! The energy on campus is already building, and we are so excited to see our halls filled with students once again. This year promises to be a journey of growth, discovery, and great success for every child. We are honored to partner with you in making this year truly exceptional.
We look forward to welcoming our 1st through 5th-grade students on Thursday, August 6th. Kindergarten and Preschool students will begin their adventure with us on Monday, August 10.
Please note a change to our daily schedule: school now begins at 7:40 a.m. and dismisses at 2:30 p.m. To ensure a smooth start, please complete the online student check-in process and Lunch application before the first day of school.
Morning Drop-off and Parking
Campus supervision begins at 7:25 a.m. For safety reasons, please do not drop off students before this time. During the first week of school, students will meet their teachers at the following locations:

1st Grade: Near the front doors.

2nd-4th Grade: On the back blacktop.

5th Grade: Outside their respective classrooms.
Teachers will be holding signs with their names to help you find your way.
Starting the second week, Kindergarten and 1st-grade students will enter through the lower-level doors west of the main entrance (near the preschool playground). 2nd and 3rd graders will enter through the gym doors, while 4th and 5th graders will head directly to their classrooms.
On August 10, Kindergarten students will line up in front of the school to walk in with their teachers. Preschool students will enter directly through their classroom doors off the preschool playground.
To keep traffic flowing smoothly, please do not park in the drop-off lane. To help students settle into their routines quickly, parents may only walk students to their classrooms on the first day of school (to assist with supplies). While you are welcome to wait in line with your child, please remain outside the building.
Student Dismissal at 2:30
Students in grades 2-5 will be released to the playground and can be picked up via the "Kiss and Go" lane. Students meeting younger siblings should walk to the front of the building.
Kindergarten and 1st-grade students will be released at the front of the building. First Grade will come out the front doors, and Kindergarten will come out the doors to the west of the preschool playground (the same doors they enter through in the morning). These students must be met by a parent, guardian, or authorized sibling. If someone else will be picking up your child, please notify the teacher in advance.
Traffic Reminders and Kiss and GO Lane
The right lane of our parking lot is the designated "KISS AND GO" lane. This lane is for quick and efficient loading and unloading only. Please follow these safety rules:

Do not park or leave your vehicle unattended in this lane.

Children must enter and exit from the passenger side of the car.

Students should be able to buckle/unbuckle themselves. If your child needs assistance, please park in a designated stall and use the crosswalk.

Always use designated crosswalks. Teachers will not release students to cross the street or the loop unescorted.
The left lane is for through-traffic only. Please drive slowly and remain vigilant for pedestrians.
Attendance
Consistent attendance is vital for student success. Per Colorado guidelines, both excused and unexcused absences impact a student's record. A student is considered habitually truant if they accumulate four absences in a month or ten in a year. Please remember that arriving late or leaving early also counts as an absence. Classes begin promptly at 7:40 a.m.
Safety Drills
Safety is our priority. During the first week, we will conduct a fire drill. On August 25th, we will hold a practice lockdown drill in coordination with APS. These are instructional experiences designed to ensure students feel prepared and safe.
Meet & Greet / Supply Drop-Off
Wednesday, August 5, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Join us to meet your child’s teachers, drop off supplies, and connect with school partners. Our nurse will be available to collect medications and necessary medical paperwork.
